About Schuyler

Still teaching, always learning, and ready to lead

Every year, Schuyler VanValkenburg teaches his History and US Government students at Glen Allen High not just how their government works, but how they can use their knowledge to change the world for the better.

Then in 2016 he wanted to take action himself: so he ran for Delegate to serve the 72nd District and Henrico County.

Schuyler’s career in the classroom and his experiences as a father of three in Henrico County, taught him the immeasurable importance of a quality education and civic engagement. Since being elected, Schuyler has worked tirelessly to ensure that Virginia remains a leader in public education and equitable prosperity. He has helped Democrats gain ground on education, equality issues, and gun legislation. But now, he sees a key opportunity to change the game on education—to fully fund our schools and ensure access for every child.

And if reelected, Schuyler is ready to get to work.
